Good morning.Hinsdale Central has its new leader. The Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Scott Carroll as the district's next Superintendent of Schools. Carroll, a St. Bonaventure alum with 20 years of experience in regional education, previously served as principal at both Hornell and Avoca. He is set to take over the top spot on July 1st.Olean General Hospital is bringing in a new partner to manage its anesthesia services. The hospital announced a deal with North American Partners in Anesthesia, or NAPA, which will begin providing services in September. OGH officials say the partnership is a critical move to improve the patient experience and strengthen surgical services at the facility.And Southern Tier lawmakers are reacting to reports that New York’s electric school bus mandate may be delayed. State Senator George Borrello and Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski both welcomed news that the deadline to stop purchasing diesel buses could be pushed back five years to 2032. Both lawmakers, however, are calling for the mandate to be scrapped entirely, citing high costs and concerns over how the batteries will hold up during harsh Upstate winters.In Wellsville, village trustees are looking into safety concerns at the intersection of Main Street and Gabby Hayes Lane. Residents of a local senior apartment complex say improperly parked delivery trucks are blocking their views of traffic. Meanwhile, village residents should prepare for higher bills next month; trustees have approved a 7 percent increase for sewer rates and a 5 percent hike for water, effective June 1st.
