However, the park's popular gorge trail and primary natural swimming pool will remain closed indefinitely as workers haul out heavy gravel, shale, and tree debris left behind by the highest regional water levels seen in over thirty years.Meanwhile, Governor Kathy Hochul has launched a new exploratory committee to evaluate a bold joint bid between Lake Placid and New York City to host a future Winter Olympic Games.And a Finger Lakes tourism destination has permanently closed down.
