Heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires is blanketing the region, pushing air pollution levels past one-hundred-and-fifty. Health officials warn conditions are unhealthy for everyone and urge residents to move strenuous outdoor activities indoors.An eleven-year-old Hornell boy is in stable condition at a Rochester hospital after being run over by a car on Stephens Street. Police say the boy was lying down on a skateboard when it rolled directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Community members have already launched a local fundraiser to support the family.And in Olean, a political firestorm is hitting the race for New York's twenty-third congressional district. Incumbent Republican Nick Langworthy is calling out Democratic challenger Aaron Gies following a media report connecting Gies' brother-in-law—a convicted sex offender—to a winter campaign event.
