Forty-four-year-old Joseph Lawrence of Bath was jailed on ten-thousand-dollars bail after a "catch a predator" style encounter by online influencers prompted a deeper investigation by Bath Police, who uncovered evidence leading to felony promotion and possession charges.In Allegany County, a local government official is facing criminal charges for allegedly stealing money collected from parking meters. State police have charged forty-nine-year-old Meghan Gonzales, the Wellsville Village Clerk, with official misconduct and petit larceny after an investigation revealed funds were stolen on three separate occasions. Gonzales has been suspended from her role by the village board.And social services officials in Cattaraugus County are warning residents about an active scam targeting SNAP benefit recipients.
