Local residents are remembering the legacy of first responders and hometown service members, including Hornell native and Marine Zach Smith, who was inspired to join the military following 9-11 before giving his life in service.In local development, Olean Center Mall developer Angelo Ingrassia has updated the Common Council on plans to transform the property. The revised vision now focuses on securing grants to build housing for veterans and creating a vibrant new glass entrance along North Union Street.And in Almond, final preparations are underway for the annual Community Day this Saturday, September twelfth.
