Good morning,State police have identified the suspect and victim in Saturday’s fatal Parkersburg shootout. Investigators say Miguel Angel Gallegos opened fire on police at a Twenty-Fifth Street apartment before officers returned fire, killing him. Inside, police found forty-five-year-old Evelyn Lassend, who they believe was killed by Gallegos before officers arrived. Two officers are on administrative duty during the review.Meanwhile, a razor-thin Wood County election is officially certified this morning, sealing a historic political upset. Following a hand count of provisional ballots, Republican challenger Justin Beanard has defeated thirty-four-year incumbent Delegate Bill Anderson by just three votes—eight-hundred twenty-nine to eight-hundred twenty-six. Anderson says he likely won't challenge the count, but a mandatory forty-eight-hour recount window remains open until Friday.And across the river, a Columbus fire investigation team is in Belpre probing Saturday’s apartment blast at Fifth and Stone.
