Good morning. A major emergency response was triggered along the Ohio River after a towboat lost power while pushing fifteen loaded coal barges downstream. The U.S. Coast Guard alerted the Ravenswood Fire Department out of concern that the drifting vessel would strike a nearby bridge. Firefighters launched rescue boats to make contact with the crew, while a secondary tugboat arrived on scene to safely secure the towline along the shoreline near Portland, Ohio. No injuries were reported.Meanwhile, an Ohio man has been sentenced to twelve years in prison for running a major narcotics operation in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Federal prosecutors say fifty-year-old Catra Nelson conspired with local dealers to distribute more than forty pounds of methamphetamine directly into the Parkersburg area.And the local youth center is celebrating a record financial windfall.
