While initial internet rumors suggested the development would be a massive power data center, state officials clarify the project is a mixed-use manufacturing facility focused on building modular computing components. A packed community town hall meeting was held to address resident concerns over future traffic, environmental impacts, and noise.Meanwhile, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced a formal push to overhaul the state's public school aid formula ahead of the upcoming legislative session. Morrisey stressed that the current seven-step funding system has not been fully updated in decades and fails to reflect massive population declines and rising special education costs. State education leaders recently warned that without regulatory changes, several local school districts could face financial insolvency.And organizers at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Parkersburg are beginning their annual community collection drive ahead of their fall book sale.
