Good morning.A high-stakes legal battle is escalating over control of the Pleasants Power Station in Pleasants County. The original owners, Omnis Fuel Technologies, have filed a motion in federal bankruptcy court seeking to dismiss the plant’s Chapter Eleven filing, accusing current management connected to motivational speaker Tony Robbins of orchestrating an unauthorized bankruptcy to block governance rights. Former owners argue the coal plant is cash-flow positive and never needed bankruptcy protection.In local infrastructure news, Wood County Commissioners have unanimously approved a two-phase rate increase for the Lubeck Public Service District. Starting in September, water rates for nearly five thousand customers will rise eighteen percent, followed by another twelve-point-two-two percent next year, while sewer rates will increase eight percent in September and six-point-zero-three percent next year to help offset rising operating and chemical costs.And the Marietta Community Foundation is expanding its Farm Two Table program across Washington County.
