State records reveal major expenses included three-hundred-fifty-thousand dollars to rent the world’s largest portable Ferris wheel and over seven-hundred-thirty-seven-thousand dollars for a nightly projection light show on the Capitol.In local education news, students will return to Waterford Elementary School on Monday following a temporary closure for mold testing and cleanup. District officials report that ten of fifty-five samples showed elevated levels of non-toxic mold spores, with impacted classrooms being cleaned while students in the highest-count rooms temporarily move to alternate spaces in the building.And the West Virginia University Wood County Extension Office is hosting free Dining with Diabetes classes starting October first at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Parkersburg.
