Good morning.The A-F-L-C-I-O Appalachian Council Head Start Program is now accepting applications for preschool children across Wood County. Program leaders say the free early education initiative—which includes meals, health screenings, and transportation—is currently enrolling three-to-five-year-olds at its newly opened Cedar Grove facility.In state news, Senator Shelley Moore Capito visited West Virginia Two-One-One headquarters in Charleston to review community referral services. Program leaders report fielding nearly twenty-five thousand requests for assistance last year, with housing and utility aid marking the highest demand.And across the river, the Washington County Sheriff's Office has officially launched a new volunteer Mounted Unit.
