Good morning, here is your Kentucky state news roundup for this morning.In Clinton County, authorities are investigating a fatal incident at Lake Cumberland. The Clinton County Coroner’s Office reports 66-year-old Mark Fritz of Nicholasville was found dead early Sunday morning near Grider Hill Marina. Investigators say Fritz fell into the lake Saturday night before resurfacing. No additional details have been released regarding what caused him to fall into the water.Turning to Louisville, metro police are investigating a Sunday night fatal shooting in the Jacobs neighborhood. Officers responded to the 2500 block of Nichols View Court just before 8:30 p.m., locating a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite emergency first aid administered by EMS crews, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. LMPD’s Homicide Unit continues to search for clues, and no suspects are currently in custody.Also in Louisville, a pedestrian is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night. Sixth Division officers responded around 9:40 p.m. to the 5300 block of Preston Highway. A preliminary investigation shows the man was standing near the edge of the southbound lanes when he was hit. First responders rendered medical care on scene before transferring him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.At the Kentucky State Fair, Kentucky State Police arrested a 23-year-old man over the weekend. A KSP trooper initially spotted Aaron Obiazi smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette before Obiazi allegedly attempted to flee into the crowd. While detaining him, officers recovered a handgun equipped with an extended magazine from his waistband. Obiazi faces charges of public intoxication from alcohol and controlled substances, along with two counts of fleeing police.In positive community news, Grammy-nominated rapper Jack Harlow treated hundreds of local fans to free books at Carmichael's Bookstore in the Highlands on Sunday. Harlow covered the cost of over 500 books worth up to $50 each while signing autographs and taking photos, emphasizing the importance of supporting local businesses in his hometown.Finally in sports, the Louisville Bats snapped a six-game losing streak Sunday, holding off the Gwinnett Stripers 5-4 at Louisville Slugger Field to avoid a series sweep. Jay Allen the Second drove in three runs to lead the Bats.
