City officials are now prepping for a massive ticker-tape parade up Broadway this Thursday morning, ending at City Hall where Mayor Zohran Mamdani will present the team with keys to the city. However, celebrations turned chaotic over the weekend, resulting in at least sixty-three arrests and ten injured officers. Mayor Mamdani has publicly backed the NYPD's enforcement actions during the unrest.Turning to the voting booth, early primary voting is seeing an impressive turnout across the state. The Board of Elections reports that more than sixty-six thousand voters cast ballots during the opening weekend alone. State political analysts say the high interest is driven by fierce competition in several high-profile congressional races. Admitted Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is scheduled to face sentencing tomorrow in Riverhead. The sixty-two-year-old former architect, who was arrested three years ago, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.A widespread consumer alert for shoppers at local grocery stores. Buffalo-based Rich Products Corporation has issued a voluntary recall on thousands of cases of "Farm Rich Pizza Cheese Crunchers" sold across twenty-one states, including New York. The FDA warns the frozen snacks may contain metal pieces.
