A formal PSC hearing is scheduled for September 23rd in Charleston.In Kanawha County, cleanup operations continue following a CSX train derailment in South Charleston. Emergency responders say seventeen train cars left the tracks along First Avenue near two local hotels. Fire officials confirmed the train was carrying grain rather than hazardous materials, and no injuries were reported.Meanwhile, the West Virginia Professional Charter Schools Board is updating its statewide bylaws to align with newly enacted state legislation. The proposed changes establish a formal pathway allowing closing rural public schools to convert into charter schools, while also setting guidelines for new university-partnered micro-schools.Down in Cabell County, state leaders gathered in Barboursville for the groundbreaking of a new forty-million-dollar skilled nursing facility.
