Good morning.We begin in Monongalia County, where sheriff's deputies are investigating the discovery of a body found in the Monongahela River. Authorities say emergency crews were called out over the weekend to the Granville area after a boater spotted the body just north of the Granville boat ramp. Emergency personnel successfully recovered the body from the water. Detectives are working the case this morning, but have not yet released the victim's identity or a suspected cause of death.Across the river in the Ohio Valley, a legal battle is moving forward in Belmont County court. Local resident Kaitlyn Kuhn has entered a formal plea of not guilty to one count of endangering children. The felony charge stems from an ongoing investigation into the tragic death of a child who was in her care. Following the plea, the judge scheduled the official trial to begin on September twenty-second.In higher education, a prominent local leader is receiving West Virginia University's highest honor for service. Wheeling University Board Chair David Hendrickson will be officially inducted into WVU's prestigious Order of Vandalia during a campus ceremony this Friday. Hendrickson is a two-time WVU graduate, a former U.S. Army captain, and a founding partner of the law firm Hendrickson and Long. He is being heavily recognized for leading the fundraising efforts to secure a permanent rehearsal home for the Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band.Finally, looking ahead to the holidays, the city of Wellsburg is dramatically expanding its annual Fourth of July celebration to mark America's upcoming two-hundred-fiftieth anniversary.
