Good morning,A Logan County teacher is under arrest following a months-long investigation. Authorities say 44-year-old Curtis Collins, a teacher at Logan Middle School, is charged with sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian. The investigation began in February, and officials say Collins had been on administrative leave since the allegations first surfaced. Logan County Schools says it is cooperating fully with law enforcement.In Cabell County, a suspect is now in custody following a shooting in Huntington that injured three people. Police say Jayron Antonio Washington was arrested Wednesday in connection with the April 25th incident. He faces multiple felony charges, including malicious wounding and wanton endangerment.Cleanup efforts continue in Mercer County after a train derailment near the West Virginia-Virginia border. According to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, 13 cars of a 129-car train derailed in the East River area. About 14-thousand gallons of soybean oil spilled onto nearby soil, but officials say none reached the waterway and the leak has been contained.Meanwhile in Kanawha County, response efforts are ongoing after last week’s deadly chemical incident at a facility in Institute. Two people were killed and another remains in critical condition. The United States Environmental Protection Agency and state officials continue air monitoring and cleanup planning. Crews say that process could take several more days.And in Mingo County, environmental officials are investigating a strange sight after Pigeon Creek turned bright orange. Officials say the discoloration is likely caused by iron deposits disturbed during railroad maintenance. So far, no fish kill has been reported, but monitoring continues.Also making headlines, early voting is now underway across West Virginia. Voters can cast ballots through May 9th, with hours varying by location. Absentee ballot requests are open through May 6th.And in Tyler County, crews have recovered the Sistersville Ferry from the Ohio River after it sank earlier this month.
