Good morning,Two West Virginia National Guard officers are being honored for their bravery during a deadly shooting in Washington, D.C.Secretary of War Pete Hegseth presented the Soldier's Medal and Airman's Medal to Major Ryan Reynolds of the Army Guard and Major Edwin Stanfield of the Air Guard at a Pentagon ceremony on Monday.  Both stepped up when a gunman opened fire on fellow Guard members the day before Thanksgiving.  Guard Specialist Sarah Beckstrom died from her wounds, while Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe survived and continues to recover.  Back in West Virginia, a legal battle involving The Greenbrier resort is drawing national attention. Attorneys for a Texas-based ownership group claim Senator Jim Justice told them he had influence over state judges — an allegation his legal team strongly denies. The state Democratic Party is now calling for a U.S. Senate Ethics Committee investigation.In Preston County, leaders are considering a new annual fee to help fund emergency medical services. The proposal would charge most households about 90 dollars a year, as officials say rising EMS costs are putting pressure on local resources. A vote on the plan could come soon.And in Marshall County, officials are investigating after a commercial truck crash spilled nearly 15-hundred gallons of oil-based mud near Route 250. The driver was taken to the hospital, and cleanup efforts are ongoing.The Salvation Army is preparing for its annual Community Safety Baby Shower.  Donations are being accepted now to help families with children ages two and younger.  Items like diapers, wipes, clothes, and hygiene products are all needed.  The event is set for May 16.Finally, a new community event is celebrating a West Virginia favorite.
