James is facing criminal charges alongside a newly filed class-action lawsuit brought against both him and the school district on behalf of affected students and families.In Webster County, state police are investigating a weekend off-road accident that claimed two lives. Authorities say a man and a woman were killed Saturday night following a collision involving several A-T-Vs in the Bergoo area near the Randolph County border.In Marion County, fire crews from across the region responded to a late-night explosion and house fire in Monongah. The blast occurred around ten o'clock Monday night at a home on Wine Drive. No injuries have been reported, and the cause remains under investigation.In the Northern Panhandle, a Marshall County sheriff's deputy is recovering after suffering a heart attack while responding to an emergency call Friday morning. Officials have not released the deputy's identity, but report he is currently undergoing medical treatment.Turning to state election news, West Virginia teenagers aged sixteen and seventeen can now get paid to work the polls during the November election. Under a new state law taking effect this year, eligible teens can earn up to three hundred dollars by assisting local election officials before, during, and after voting hours on Election Day.In state tourism news, the West Virginia State Parks Foundation has officially kicked off its annual fall colors photo competition today.
