Radish Spirit Gets Steamy (feat. Spellbreak, Mario 2: The Lost Levels, and Persona 5 Royal)

from Into the Aether - A Low Key Video Game Podcast · host Stephen Hilger + Brendon Bigley

The radish spirit treads through foggy hot springs with a leisurely pace — almost a saunter — and into the elevator. They glance downwards at the cascade of buttons, each indicating another floor upon which to recline within yet another hazy pool of geothermal bath water. Lost in thought, the radish spirit imagines themselves floating down a splendid glowing river of silver and peering through eyes half-shut at the starry aurora above. What floor might that be on, the spirit wonders to itself — only releasing a small puff of air to indicate the weight of enormous consideration.Focusing back on the buttons, they notice a small creased corner of paper sticking out from between where the wooden edge of the elevator wall meets the brushed copper panel housing seemingly endless choices of venues for relaxation. They reach, carefully and with purpose at the small corner, and pull it gracefully from its home only to discover a simple white envelope. Examining the back reveals a circular wax stamp, about a half inch in diameter and containing a glyph unknown to them. The radish spirit opens the note, and the camera freezes.
