Ragans' Surgery Could End His 2024 Season

Cole Ragans, the Kansas City Royals’ ace, is set for surgery after being sidelined since May with a left elbow issue, marking another devastating blow to a pitching staff already reeling from injuries. Already a two-time Tommy John surgery survivor, Ragans’ 2024 season has been cut short by multiple ailments, including groin and rotator cuff strains — so much so he skipped the World Baseball Classic to focus on recovery. With no timeline yet, his 2025 campaign is likely over before it begins, leaving fans and teammates heartbroken after his strong 2023 performance and Cy Young fourth-place finish.
