Rage Never Dies: 28 Years Later
from Horror Junkies Hosted by Horror Junkies
In this episode of Horror Junkies, we’re diving headfirst into the chaos, carnage, and quiet despair of 28 Years Later, the long-awaited third entry in the iconic 28 Days Later saga, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. Set decades after the original outbreak, 28 Years Later reintroduces us to a world forever altered by the Rage virus, where infection isn’t just a threat—it’s generational trauma. We break down the bleak beauty of the film’s direction, the haunting performances, and the terrifying new types of infected that make the original seem tame by comparison. We talk legacy: how 28 Years Later brings the trilogy full circle, where it stands in the pandemic horror canon, and how real-world horrors—from societal collapse to predators in power—linger just beneath the surface. Yes, we even touch on that infamous connection to Jimmy Savile, whose real-life depravity adds an unexpected layer of discomfort to the film’s finale. Viral rage. Abandoned cities. A new generation born into ruin. This is no simple sequel, it’s a haunting reminder that some outbreaks never end. 🧟♂️Don’t forget to: Leave us a review Follow us on our socials Tell your horror-loving friends about the show!
