Humans are selfish, violent and ruthless by nature. Our modern conveniences have provided a false sense of security and worse - a false impression of many other people who have all their needs met with convenience. What happens when they no longer can? Too many people refuse to believe anyone would wish them harm or take things from them. Hiding in a fantasy and ignoring history is not a defense. It's suicidal ignorance.
