Rain, Road Delays and Train Trouble

from Wake Up Sydney

Wake Up Sydney brings you the latest on weather, traffic and trains across Sydney this Tuesday morning. Expect a cool, cloudy and showery day across the city, with a very high chance of rain from late morning. The Sydney CBD is around 17.5°C on the way to 22°C, Parramatta is starting cooler at 14.7°C with a top of 21°C, and Bondi is sitting near 17.7°C, reaching 20°C. Keep the umbrella handy. On the roads, delays are possible in Kingsford after a crash involving a car and pedestrian on Anzac Parade at Botany Street, where one northbound lane is closed. In Silverwater, a broken-down truck on Silverwater Road at Egerton Street has closed one southbound lane. Drivers should slow down, allow extra time and take care near emergency crews. Train commuters are facing major disruption, especially on the T1 North Shore Line, due to urgent overhead wiring repairs at Chatswood, expected to continue until around 11am. Replacement buses are limited between Gordon and Chatswood, with a rail shuttle running between Hornsby and Gordon. Passengers should allow up to 45 minutes extra travel time. There are also service changes on the T1 Western Line, T9 Northern Line, and Central Coast & Newcastle Line, with some trains diverted via Epping and Strathfield. No city-bound trains are running from Artarmon, St Leonards, Wollstonecraft or Waverton, so commuters are encouraged to use the Sydney Metro where possible. At Central Station, some T1 Western Line services are leaving from different platforms, so check station screens before boarding. Also, the lift between the concourse and Platform 1 at International Airport Station is out of service until Friday 6 November; passengers needing lift access should travel via Domestic Airport Station and return to International on Platform 2.
