Raise your hand if you want to make a difference.

Many people (myself included) have grand ideas of “changing the world” or at least making a difference. But do we really have what it takes? When the rain is pouring down, the field is muddy, and your feet keep slipping, will you be the one that raises their hand to get put in the game or be taken out?I admit, it’s very hard to want to play for a team that I often think acts just like my opponent! But as Melissa wisely reminds me, for right now, there are two teams and one playing field. I can either help my team work its way down a dirty field with the goal of making it to the winning locker room with showers! Or I can take myself out of the game and watch as both teams continue to get dirtier.Politics, like life, can be very dirty and discouraging. But if those of us who have sat watching for so many years don’t start asking to get put in the game, the same players will continue to play.
