Raising Arizona!

This week on Reel Sisters Rewind, sisters Amanda Stephens and Missy Washam are diving into the wild, offbeat comedy Raising Arizona! Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, this 1987 cult classic follows H.I. and Ed McDunnough, a bumbling couple who kidnap one of the “Arizona Quints” in hopes of starting their own family—with outrageous results. From Nicolas Cage’s unforgettable turn as the lovable ex-con to Holly Hunter’s fiery performance as Ed, the sisters break down every eccentric twist, chaotic chase, and laugh-out-loud moment that made this film a Coen Brothers favorite. Along the way, they share fascinating facts, behind-the-scenes trivia, and plenty of 80s nostalgia. So grab some Huggies and hold on tight—because this rewind proves Raising Arizona is as quirky, chaotic, and hilarious as ever.
