Raising Emotionally Intelligent Children: Understanding Emotions and Consequences

from Stretch4Life · host Lori Walter LMT

Welcome back! We are continuing our “custom fit suit” series with today’s episode. The purpose of this series is to advocate for our children and utilize the wisdom of other parents to be able to help us discover the gifts and talents our kids have and how to help them utilize those gifts.Today we are going over children’s mechanical brain functions and development. A very important concept is understanding how a child accepts discipline. How well they can handle and process the consequences to bad behavior is a great signal for mental maturity. It is normal for humans to cry and be upset when something has happened to us. There also needs to be a concrete understanding that after we do something wrong there will be a punishment or consequence and then accept it and learn from it. Laura and Bob both share a lot of wisdom they learned through experience or through mentorship on how to understand children’s emotions and different ways to deal with it. As the adult in the relationship, we also need some training and reflection on how we handle our emotions. We have to parent our children and cannot let their emotional outbursts sabotage our emotions. We must learn and grow in the parent role.  If you have any questions you’d like to ask Lori, please ask it in our contact form here: https://stretch4life.com/contact-us/  Check out our recommended products: #adhttps://stretch4life.com/products/ Check out the stretch4life course here:https://stretch4life.mykajabi.com/offers/oEc89RhL/checkout
