Raising Resilient Children with Sara Olsher

from Read The Damn Book

As a mom and stepmom, I want to raise children who become adults and know they are capable of getting through hard times. I experienced the death of my father to cancer at 7 and my stepchildren have experienced divorce. These are big moments in life no matter what age you are, but learning how to cope with them at a young age is even tougher. Sara Olsher is the founder of Mighty and Bright and author of 6 children’s books that focus on everything from kids experiencing divorce to having a parent or loved one with cancer to having cancer themselves. She saw a need for such resources as her own child was going through the confusion of having parents get divorced and then when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Sara is the definition of my show in the way she took the challenges and obstacles presented in her life and turned them into positives to change the future of her daughter, herself and now children all over the country.
