Ralph Ellis's Cancellation: Plagiarism Scandals, Legal Battles & Cancel Culture Fallout | (#41)

In this captivating episode of Vocation, host Matty welcomes historian and author Ralph Ellis for a candid discussion on cancellation—his personal battle against plagiarism and the publishing industry's dark side. From the theft of his research by Nigel Appleby for Hall of the Gods, legal fights with Random House, police raids, failed peace deals involving Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval, to the broader impacts of cancel culture, academic pushback, religious criticism, self-publishing challenges, and the suppression of alternative histories, this conversation challenges everything we think we know about intellectual property, elite gatekeeping, and the fight for truth in independent research. A powerful re-examination of one researcher's resilience and the perils of challenging the establishment.Chapters:00:00 The Genesis of Controversy04:37 The Plagiarism Incident08:48 The Aftermath of Theft12:24 Understanding The Effort That Was Stolen15:26 The Broader Implications of Plagiarism16:32 The Unraveling of a Publishing Mystery20:59 The Fight for Intellectual Property24:48 The Final Showdown29:52 Reflections on the Journey38:35 Strange Dealings in Publishing40:31 The Role of Lawyers and Legal Maneuvers41:53 Strategies Against Plagiarism45:45 Negotiations and Peace Deals48:19 The Fallout of a Failed Agreement51:23 The Criminal Aspect of Plagiarism56:33 The Police and Legal System's Response01:01:08 The Impact of Reputation on Publishing01:08:55 The Court Case and Its Resolution01:11:10 A Humorous Postscript01:12:20 The Guardian's Spelling Blunder01:12:46 The Controversial Book: Desert Fire01:16:01 The Publishing Dilemma: Plagiarism and Fiction01:18:13 The Challenges of Getting Published01:19:37 Banned From Amazon01:21:52 The Pitfalls of Research and Writing01:23:03 Pushback from Academia and Religious Groups01:27:59 The Impact of Censorship and Cancel Culture01:39:04 The Future of Independent Research and PublishingFollow me on:X: https://x.com/Vocation0110Youtube: http://youtube.com/@Vocation01Substack: https://vocation01.substack.com/Find Ralph on: Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/RalphEllis/videos X channel: https://x.com/ralphyellis Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ralph.ellis.144/ Paperback and Tablet books: Thoth, Architect of the Universe: https://amzn.to/3OMWwmXK2, Quest of the Gods :https://amzn.to/4mCaQenEgyptian Testament Series: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753FWD9D The King Jesus Trilogy: https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-King-Jesus-Trilogy/dp/B09Q3H8H84 Audio books: https://play.google.com/store/audiobooks/series?id=iXAuHAAAABimZM
