He is the former Director of Graduate Programs in the New Evangelization and a former Professor of Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Detroit. He holds a doctorate in theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. Pope Benedict XVI appointed Martin as a Consultor to the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization and a Peritus for the Synod on the New Evangelization.
