Rambam's Health Guidelines: Part 1 (Hilchos Deios Chapter 4)

from Rambam Bekius · host Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss

Have any questions, insights, or feedback? Send me a text! This afternoon (6/1/21 at YBT) in our Rambam Bekius chavurah we began learning a chapter that some would have preferred to skip. Although we acknowledged that there are many outdated elements of the Rambam's health guidelines, our goal was to see how much is still relevant, and what insight these principles have to offer for our avodas Hashem. We got about halfway through, and will endeavor to complete the chapter on Thursday. (No shiur tomorrow.)----------מקורות:רמב"ם - משנה תורה: ספר המדע, הלכות דעות פרק ד----------Bekius Disclaimer: Note that this is a bekius chavurah - as opposed to an iyun shiur. Each session consists of us reading through the Rambam's writings together without much preparation on my part, and without going into depth by consulting commentaries or primary sources. For all these reasons, there are bound to be inaccuracies, errors, and other types of shortcomings which would not be acceptable in a prepared shiur, but are quite typical of a bekius chavurah.
