Rams Draft Ty Simpson, Plan for Future

The Los Angeles Rams drafted Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, planning to have him learn from Matthew Stafford for at least a year. This strategy, used by teams like the Packers with Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love, aims to build for the future without rushing the rookie. Critics argue that this approach is risky, as many young quarterbacks struggle due to poor setups. However, the Rams solid system, led by Sean McVay and Kliff Kingsbury, could help Simpson develop. Historically, sixteen first-round quarterbacks have sat out most of their rookie year, with mixed results. The Rams decision to let Simpson learn from Stafford could pay off in the long run.
