Random Pregnancies

Two unexpected pregnancies seem unplanned: Elizabeth, previously unable to have children, conceives in old age, while the virgin Mary conceives Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Yet God is carrying out His promised plan, preparing John to go before the Lord and sending His eternal Son to save His people from sin. Nothing here is random. Jesus was born to die as the once-for-all sacrifice, then rose in victory.
