Today, Washington County leaders are expected to finalize funding for cybersecurity upgrades and a ransom payment following an attack last month. They're expected to ratify those measures today. The Observer-Reporter reports - that's not all of the money they're parting with. Commissioners will also reportedly pay a ransom. Though an exact amount isn't known, it's believed to be around $200,000. Some are raising questions about the county's transparency in the process. The initial meeting to approve those security upgrades was held without public notice and was not accessible to the public as is typical. ]
