Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – 3 April 2005

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. On this evening’s show, we’re going to lounge around, listen to some charming music, celebrate the birthdays of Pops and Zez Confrey, and do the rhumba. Enjoy the show! Here’s the complete playlist: Segment 1: LoungersIf you live in the Long Beach or Signal Hill area of Southern California and are a subscriber to Charter Cable, then you have the great good fortune of being able to see yours truly on TV! Thanks to longtime faithful listener Ron, I was a guest on a quite eccentric program hosted by Glen Banks called “Uncle Glen’s Lounge Party”, and that program is airing each Saturday in April at 7 PM on Channel 3. So, if you’re in Long Beach, I hope you’ll tune in. The rest of you will just have to wait until Dave or Jay call to have me on their shows. Anyway, in celebration of the “Lounge Party”, here’s a set of rapidly rotating records by some loungers. I’ve Got a Feeling I’m Falling – Willard Robison and His Levee Loungers The Jazz Me Blues – Bert Lown and His Loungers Any Time, Any Day, Anywhere – Chick Bullock and His Levee Loungers/ Chick Bullock, v.
