Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – April 10, 2022

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. The subject of the fourth segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records is not a composer, lyricist, musician or singer, but the bell, popularly known as Big Ben in the clock tower at Westminster in London, England. Remember, Big Ben is not the name of the clock at Westminster, but the bell, officially known as The Great Bell. In other segments we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Fred Hall, Fiddlin’ Arthur Smith and Franklyn Baur and we’ll get cozy.  There are a number of records and songs being heard on the show for the first time.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we thing better–musical era.  ENJOY THE SHOW!
