Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – December 26, 2021

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. It would certainly be nice to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Times Square in New York City. On this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records you’ll be able to do the next best thing which is to do so vicariously  through Hans-Wener Janssen’s musical imagining of New Year’s Eve In New York. You’ll hear not only Part 1 from the record pictured above, but all three issued parts. which total about 13 minutes, in the final segment of this final RRR show of 2021. In other segments, we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Mike Jackson, Larry Briers and Ed Claypoole and we’ve really put our back into the third segment of the show. This being the final RRR show of 2021 we want to thank each and every one of you for listening and for your support during the past year. Who knows what 2022 holds for any of us, but our resolution for the new year is to keep bringing you toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. We hope you’ll resolve to keep listening and to help spread the word about the show to your friends–physical and virtual–you think would enjoy this great music and interesting information. Set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be transported magically back to a different–and we thing better–musical era. ENJOY THE SHOW!THANKS FOR LISTENTING!
