Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – January 10, 2021

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. I’ve been accused of losing my mind more than once, and apparently bandleader Bob Zurke is losing his mind as well. This week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records starts off by playing some mind games. We’ll also have another episode of “One Thing in Common” where we play a set of rapidly rotating records which seemingly have nothing whatsoever to do with each other yet have one this in common. This time there are six records over two segments. You’re probably familiar with the Hoosier Hot Shots, but in the third segment of the show you’ll hear from and about some other hot shots. And in the second segment we’ll fulfill a request. There lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour to relax over your favorite beverage and be taken back in time to a different era of music.  ENJOY THE SHOW! I hope you are all safe and healthy and doing as well as you can be given the current world situation and stay-at-home orders and that this hour of music gives you a bit of diversion and entertainment. Thanks for listening and best wishes! Here’s the complete playlist: Segment 1: Mind Games Georgia On My Mind – Quintet du Hot Club of FranceI’m Losing My Mind – Bob Zurke and His Delta Rhythm Orchestra / Evelyn Poe, v.You Don’t Know My Mind – Bob Dunn’s Vagabonds  Segment 2: Request Dixie Girl – Plantation Trio (Van Eps Trio)He’d Have To Get Under, Get Out And Get Under – Victor Military BandDixie Girl – Dick Rogers AHO Segment 3: Hot Shots I’m Gonna Stomp Mr. Henry Lee – Eddie’s Hot ShotsWho’s Sorry Now – Harlem Hot ShotsThree Men Went A-Hunting – Byrd Moore and His Hot Shots Segment 4: One Thing In Common 1 It’s A Sin To Tell A Lit – Freddy Ellis AHO / Seymour Richards, v.
