Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – October 24, 2021

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Do you know who this fellow is? You heard him play mandolin on last week’s show. He’s Dr. Clarence J. Penney and he starts off this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. There is not a lot of information out there about him and I very nearly gave up including any biographical information at all in his segment, but finally managed to unearth an article about him along with documentation from ancestry.com. This week you’ll hear his two other issued recordings.  In other segments, we’ll have some “come backs,”  find out what’s sitting on the mantel, and we’ll do all of this with the utmost sincerity. And thanks to the internet, you can listen to the show “any old time.”  There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we thing better–musical era.  ENJOY THE SHOW!
