Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – September 6, 2020

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Do you know who this lady is?  She’s Flora May Augusta Flannagan, better known professionally as Australian popular singer and music hall performer Florrie Forde. You’ll hear her in the second segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records singing “Nellie Dean” in a birthday salute to Harry Armstrong. We’ll also be celebrating the birthday of W. H. Myddleton in the opening segment of the show and in the third segment, we’ll hear about “Arabella.” Do you know what the Guiness Book of World Records says is the world’s most difficult tongue twister, at least in English? You’ll find out in the fourth segment.  And in the final segment, tomorrow being Labor Day here in the US, we’ll have some records about work. ENJOY THE SHOW! I hope you are all safe and healthy and doing as well as you can be given the current world situation and stay-at-home orders and that this hour of music gives you a bit of diversion and entertainment.
