Rappers Turned Actors: When It Does And Doesn't Work (Happy 53rd Birthday, LL Cool J)

As someone who was heavily into writing Hip Hop music way back when, I can appreciate when one would decide to want to branch off and do something different... Maybe some acting per say. There's times when we as an audience see an artist transition right before our eyes on screen and become a whole presence in a single role. Then there's other times when we'd wish they'd just stick to writing rhymes on the pad. No offense to those folks, but this transition is a fine line, and it's very hit or miss.
