Following a mad weekend with the band in Blackpool my voice was a little shot this time but the show must go on. I pulled together an eclectic mix of great music from around the net and had great fun chatting with everyone on IRC. Hope you enjoy the show. 00:00 Sam Page – Pass Me By – License Unknown – Sam sent me his music some time ago and I played a song called “Lottery”, this is from the same collection of mp3s. Love the dirty guitar on this and it reminds me a little of Weezer in parts. No bad thing. Enjoy. 05:57 – Professor Kliq – Crystals – CC BY-SA Licensed – It’s been a while since I played a track by friend of the show and former guest Prof K. Thanks to Jason Harrier for reminding me by email. The Prof has been busy and this is the opening track from his latest album. ——— 11:18 – I Am Not Lefthanded – Late Night Drive – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – Old friends of the show and all round good eggs IANL are coming to Europe to do a tour and they’ve also just set up a new record label. Aren’t they show offs? 🙂 They played this song live in a session back on episode 22 and they also played it at the 2011 Rathole Roadshow in Liverpool. 17:42 – Fhernando – Sweet Addiction – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – A slice of Mexican funk courtesy of Jamendo radio. I don’t know the Mexican (Spanish) for funk, but I reckon it’s probably the same. Ole! ——— 21:12 – Leslie Hunt – Way Too Much – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – The second track I’ve played from here 2009 album “Your Fire Is On Hire”, which you can find on Jamendo. A beardy news story – Aussie men with beards have more sex 28:10 – The Beards – Got Me A Beard – License Unknown – Another beard-tastic song from Aussie facial hair obsessives The Beards. Check out the official video on YouTube. Its a great animation. Loving the orchestral arrangement on this as well. ———- 31:54 – Crocodile T.X. – Missisippi – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – Heard this one via Jamendo electro radio. 38:38 – Josh Woodward – Water In The Creek – CC BY Licensed – CD Tim Dobson sent me in the post. From Josh’s latest album The Wake, released in August. Great CC artist, I played him many times. Go and get his album. 44:22 – Minnie Stacy & Casey – Special Offer – License Unknown – Minnie is a friend of mine from Nerve magazine in Liverpool. She was due to play the benefit gig with us and put a lot of effort into promotion. Sadly though illness struck and she couldn’t make it. Hope you feel better soon Minnie! 55:17 – Victoria Caffe – Guet Apens – CC BY-NC-SA Licensed – Nice riffage on this one. Huh! A French rock band with an interesting sound. This track can be found on Jamendo and I probably picked it up via CCHits. Though memory fails me. Meaning of the phrase.
