In January 2001, I had the privilege of testifying before the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine who were considering the regulation and licensing of Reiki and other energy healing modalities. Those of us who testified convinced them of the efficacy and sincerity of our practices and they accepted our position. This still left a gap between what we did and acceptance as an adjunct to traditional allopathic medicine.
