Health Education England's training budgets were constrained by Treasury spending limits, despite clear demand for healthcare workers across Yorkshire. The training places existed, qualified applicants were ready, but Westminster chose to cap the funding as though the government that issues the pound could run out of pounds. Ravi's story reveals how political choices create artificial scarcity in public services. This episode examines NHS workforce planning and the gap between healthcare capacity and political will.
