Rayshun LaMarr From NBC's The Voice

from That Voice: A Decade With The Performers On NBC's The Voice · host Arroe Collins

Rayshun made the decision to dedicate his life to music very early on and went on to study vocal performance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After receiving a call back for "The Lion King" on Broadway, Rayshun dropped out of school. Despite not getting the part, he threw himself into the music scene until it all came to a screeching halt when he was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer and Multicentric Castleman's Disease, a rare genetic disorder. Rayshun lost much of his hearing, vision and voice. After two years of intense treatment, Rayshun is cancer free and has regained his sight, hearing and vocals, enabling him to start performing again. Song: "Sweet Thing" by Chaka KhanIf you could share a conversation with a seed before it becomes a tree would you speak of its future fruit or would it be all things right now?
