RBDS9 048 – The Search, Part I (S3E1)

from Rebinge It · host Kim Voegele & James Rowan

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: The Search, Part I Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 3 of Deep Space Nine! Everyone out there waiting for us to get to the "good stuff," here we are! In this episode we meet the Defiant (finally) and we get some important costume upgrades (Odo has a belt???)! We also get some hair that we don't approve of...but let's just be clear, we don't have a lot of hair ourselves so too much hair scares us. We also meet a new head of security (what's his name) and there's a Romulan on the team! Whaaat!? The Search, Part I In The Search, Part I our team heads out in a cloaked Defiant to locate the Founders in the Gamma Quadrant. We just want to talk and tell them we come in peace...while flying around their territory in our warship. The messages are confusing, but this is our "plan". When some Jem'Hadar cockroach ships seem to detect our cloaked ship, we pretend like everything is fine and just keep going. Well the news is bad - they do know how to detect the Defiant and also how to disable it! Uh oh! And maybe worst of all we endure the crankiest Odo we've ever seen. He is crabby, growly and not cooperative with the team...and frankly, he's a little scary. This is a two parter, so things don't end well for our heroes. What will happen next? What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Please listen to some of our favorite episodes like Duet and The Wire or check out the previous episode, the Season 2 Wrap Up. Next time... Join us for the next episode S3E2: The Search, Part II!
