Re-opening night: new audience expectations...but the show must go on

On November 15, 2021, London’s famed West End theatres officially reopened after being closed for 609 days. That’s the longest theatre closure in London since the Puritan repression in 1642. Now orchestras are tuning, stars are slipping into costume, and curtains are rising as audiences and talent come face to face for the first time in a very long time. As we adjust to our new normal, we’re going behind the scenes to see what’s changed, what’s new, and what’s never coming back again. We’ll talk to James Williams of the Shaftesbury Theatre and Chris Dumas from Avison Young to see just what lies in store for your theatre going experience.
