Ready for His Return (Luke 17:20–37)

What will the return of Jesus actually look like? In this message from Luke 17:20–37, Pastor Billy walks through Jesus’ teaching on the coming Kingdom of God and the reality of His second coming. Jesus reminds us that His Kingdom is already present, but its fullness is still to come and while we wait, His followers are called to remain faithful, watchful, and ready. Through Jesus’ warnings about deception, the days of Noah and Lot, the suddenness of His return, and the danger of looking back, we are reminded that the end will come unexpectedly and bring an irreversible separation. Rather than obsessing over signs or trying to predict the details, Jesus calls us to live with our eyes fixed on Him, our grip on this world loosened, and our hearts ready for His appearing. Because of the Cross, we don’t have to face that day in fear, we can face it ready.
