Ready For…Pollen

from You Want Mora? Podcast · host Smashley Studios

Episode 11: Just a normal spring day here in the PNW, that is to say, unpredictable weather and more allergens than even a generally capable nose can manage. This episode, like everything in the northwest right now, is covered in pollen.  The Blue Herons album, “Demon Slayer” comes out next week. The singles have been so good! I’m looking forward to this one: The Blue Herons - Demon Slayer. The Hu Band continues to rock, this time with a new single about being a man (which does not mean being an a-hole): The Hu - The Men. “Automatic Noodle” by Annalee Newitz checks all the sci-fi boxes and is a feel-good novella, which we really need right now. Found families, independence, bonds, and purpose are so meaningful in such a fractured world. More discussion next week as, coincidentally, Smashley happened to be reading this at the same time as Doug. The movie “Tow” is set in Seattle and based on a true story about a person living in her car who successfully fights to get it back after it was stolen and impounded. You can hear the interview with Amanda Ogle and her lawyer on KUOW’s Soundside podcast: Soundside - March 26, 2026. Rose Byrne and Octavia Spencer shine as always in the movie: Tow - Trailer
