ReadyCorps Ready Report

from The Ready Report by ReadyCorps · host Thom Rigsby

Fuel costs remain elevated, with diesel prices continuing to rise as distillate inventories fall and gasoline also staying high. The report says this can affect household driving budgets and increase operating costs for trucking, agriculture, deliveries, and other fuel-dependent services. It also notes uncertainty around a possible diesel export restriction, but says no formal order has been issued. The report says federal energy forecasters expect distillate inventories to remain below the recent five-year low through much of next year. It advises people to check local fuel prices, plan transportation spending carefully, combine trips when practical, and avoid stockpiling fuel or goods while watching for official federal updates. A nationwide recall covers six lots of compounded injectable products, including glutathione, Myers Cocktail, and Triimmune Boost. Health authorities report more than 25 cases linked to glutathione injections in Texas, Washington, Florida, and New York. The report says elevated endotoxin exposure is a concern, but causation and full case details are not yet confirmed. Borrowing costs are described as a continuing concern. The report says the Federal Reserve raised its target range to 3.75% to 4% on September 16, and Treasury yields later reached multi-year highs. It advises checking actual lender quotes and variable-rate notices rather than relying on market commentary or expectations. Challenged federal election ballot mail requirements remain unenforced because court injunctions are still blocking the rule. The Postal Service reportedly stopped implementation work and told employees the requirements would not be enforced during this year’s federal election. The report says state and local ballot procedures still apply, and voters should follow election office instructions and deadlines. The weather outlook includes flooding concerns from western Kansas into the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles, with a flood watch into parts of west Texas and southern New Mexico. Coastal flooding is reported for the Washington and Baltimore area and parts of the Carolinas, along with high surf, rip currents, and wind concerns along portions of the Atlantic coast. High wind watches are in effect for parts of Montana, and fire weather watches cover portions of Nevada and eastern California.
