Real Estate Investing for Beginners with Brian Penn
from The Real Estate Investing Club · host GABE PETERSEN
Brian started his real estate investing career during the last year of his post-doctoral studies in 1995. He took a course in buying properties out of probate. From there he bought his first property which sold a few years later for twice what he originally paid. During his second post-doctoral position, he acquired multiple rental properties. During the 2000s, he continued to acquire rental properties and expanded his areas in real estate investing branching out to pre-foreclosures, fix-and-flips, wholesaling, and most recently, vacant land. From 2007-2009, Brian and his wife, Christa, built a vacation rental in Breckenridge, Colorado. Using a conservative model for rentals, he weathered the subprime crisis of 2007-2012. The 2010s were marked by both cheap money and houses. HDTV shows had everyone thinking they could flip houses; being established, Brian did not fall for this. Now we are facing a new reality much like the 2000s and before. Money and houses are now expensive. The techniques that Brian used to acquire property are now more important than ever. To help new investors, Brian outlines the techniques that have made him successful in his new book and Udemy course, “Real Estate Investing for Beginners: Finding Your Best Path to Success.”. Brian Penn is a real estate investor who has a great story to share and words of wisdom to impart for both beginning and veteran investors alike, so grab your pen and paper, buckle up and enjoy the ride.
